Greater NY partners were treated to an insider preview of One Clinton, currently under construction in Brooklyn Heights. Within the next year, One Clinton, also called “Brooklyn’s Flatiron,” will open and house 134 condominiums, a new Brooklyn Public Library (Brooklyn Heights Branch), a 9,000 square foot STEM lab, retail space and 114 units of off-site affordable housing.

David Kramer, president of The Hudson Companies and developer of One Clinton, gave Greater NY partners not just a tour of the building under construction but a detailed look at the complex political, financial and community based relationships that go into mixed-used and mixed-income buildings.

Greater NY Founder Cheryl Cohen Effron introduced Kramer – Greater NY partner to Robert Cordero, executive director of Grand Street Settlement – saying that Greater NY highlights real estate projects because of the unique perspective they offer on the city’s neighborhoods and its future.

One Greater NY nonprofit partner called Kramer’s description of the project “a lesson on how things get done and something every nonprofit leader should hear.”

David Kramer is president of The Hudson Companies and has led many of Hudson’s major projects, including the House at Cornell Tech, the redevelopment of the Brooklyn Heights library, and One Clinton. Kramer currently serves on the Boards of Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy, the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, the Collegiate School Alumni Council and the Coro Foundation. He has a B.A. from Yale University.

Greater NY holds annual “Hard Hat Tours” to highlight the infrastructure and real estate projects that are shaping the future of New York City
